By Request, here is the first of a series of block patterns for quilters who like to mix embroidery (or other medium) with quilting. This particular set of blocks contains two different variations - one with two different size center openings and the other with three. REDIGITIZED and provided 10" high in all formats.

Designed for use with embroidered blocks or other central motifs that do not benefit from quilting, this set of utility patterns features a frame design for a hexagonal block, an on point block and a regular blcok, in addition to a complimentary border pattern. REDIGITIZED and provided 10" & 15" (border is 8") high in all formats. Easily resizable for smaller throated machines (or larger). Sews out nicely at 5".

Designed for use with embroidered blocks or other central motifs that do not benefit from quilting, this set includes motifs for "alternate" blocks that may not contain central images. UT1008 - Diamond Basting for 15 Inch Plus Machines

AT LAST!!! A great basting pattern for those with a longer throated machine - 5 variations

5 diamond basting patterns can also be used as cross hatching on borders (watch the draw in!). Patterns are supplied 12" tall and 132" wide. Use the CLIP command and clip from the LEFT SIDE ONLY to have no overstitching. Pattern is supplied at 1", 1.5", 2", 3" and 4" density. No more guesswork and alternate row sewing! UT1009 - Diamond Basting for 8-9 Inch Throat Machines

A great basting pattern for those with 9" throat sewing machines. PC Quilter format ONLY.

6 diamond basting patterns can also be used as cross hatching on borders (watch the draw in!) Patterns vary in height, but are all 5" or less. They are provided 132" wide. Use the CLIPL (clip Left Edge) command to shorten the pattern to fit different widths. NOTE THAT THIS PATTERN IS ONLY IN PC QUILTER FORMAT as it is not suitable for long arm robotics.

UT1015 - 45 Degree Pack (Broken Dishes, 8 pointed stars, etc.)

Multiple feather pattern pieces for diamonds, triangles, kites AND a four pointed star.

Choose from 2 diamonds, 2 triangles, 2 kites shapes AND a four-pointed star to create your quilt. A special set of bitmaps in included to help you with the layout (PQ Designer or other program required). While the patterns are designed to create a very large block, they are quite modest in size except for the large star. These patterns work great with Broken Dishes, blocks that are divided in 8 parts with "kites and triangles" (and are not divided corner to corner) and quilts that are similar to a double wedding ring but angular in nature. These patterns can also work for a double wedding ring if you prefer their straight lines as opposed to the curves. Patterns are sized to do a 16" block in all formats plus a special version for the PC Quilter that is sized for 8" blocks.

UT1016 - Complex Fans 1 (for blocks with curved pieces)

It's hard to design patterns that work with a square block containing a quarter circle as the proportions vary widely. These work wonderfully and adapt to a variety of sizes. Use them for Dresden Plates, Stack-N-Whack fans, New York Beauty, etc. Please refer to the illustration enclosed with the pattern. We recommend that you draw your block on paper and stitch it without thread to get a feel for where the "curve" will sit if it is important to you. Patterns provided at 12" in all 4 versions plus a special 5" version for the PC Quilter.

UT1017 - Simple Fans 1 (for blocks with curved pieces)

Slightly more open than our complex fan patterns, this pattern is designed so that it can be used on smaller blocks.

It's hard to design patterns that work with a square block containing a quarter circle as the proportions vary widely. These work wonderfully and adapt to a variety of sizes. In addition to Dresden Plates, Stack-N-Whack fans and New York Beauty, this set lends itself to being used with "Robbing Peter to Pay Paul", the popular sub-block that is part of Drunkards Path. Please refer to the illustration enclosed with the pattern. We recommend that you draw your block on paper and stitch it without thread to get a feel for where the "curve" will sit if it is important to you. Patterns provided at 12" in all 4 versions plus a special 5" version for the PC Quilter.

UT1018 - Baptist Fans 1

A traditional pattern in 3, 5, 7 and 9 bands.

CAUTION - this pattern is technically 'perfect" which means that each line that is supposed to oversew does! However, depending on tension, draw-in, or other factors you may experience difficulty lining up rows or have lines stitch a bit "off". For this reason, we recommend that you pre-baste your quilt. This pattern comes without support! We cannot help you trouble shoot the issues described above. To test if the problem is one of the above, you need to unthread your machine and sew the pattern out on paper. If there is no "shift", the problem is your fabric and "movement". If the pattern is still "off" on paper, it may mean an issue with your machine. 3 band pattern is provided at 5" and 5, 7 and 9 band patterns are provided at just over 10".

UT1019 - Corner Frame 1

First in a series designed to create elaborate frames around applique, embroidery or signature blocks.

These frames can be used individually as a small corner, paired up "on point" to create a stunning frame for a signature block or used on corners to frame a special block. There are two versions. The "plain" one can be used with added texture created by free motion or left alone. Provided approx. 12" high, but will sew out fine as small as 5".

UT1020 - Simple Serif Uppercase Alphabet 1

A simple character set for doing letters on qults.

This simple character set also includes a set of PDF templates to aid in placement. Provided 5" high, these characters can be sewn as small as 2" or as large as 7.5" with good results.

UT1021 - Simple Serif EXTRAS and Numbers

Expanding on our UT1020 package, this will let you add dates and punctuation.

PDF templates are included of all the numbers and punctuation. In the case of the punctuation, an extra X is included which shows the center of the pattern to aide in lining it up in relationship to the rest of the patterns.

A wonderful variety pack for piecing 8 'scrappy' or regular triangles at a time contains 8 different sizes!

Piecing a scrappy quilt with your long or mid arm machine is a snap! A PDF with illustrated step by step instructions is included. This set is VERY different and includes 2 of each size - one is the simply stitching lines for sewing triangles all the same and the other actually stitches the OUTLINE and HINTS on the background fabric to make placement and cutting easier. Following our techniques you can even create pairs of scrappy triangles using the same background fabric, but a variety of different contrasting fabrics. Each pattern makes exactly 8 half square triangles! Set includes, 4", 3.5", 3", 2.5", 2", 1.5", 1.25", and 1" half square triangle patterns. UT1032 - Sports Alphabet with Numbers and Punctuation

A great collection for sports-related school and T-shirt quilts.

This collection gives the appearance of the popular lettering found on jackets and jerseys in both professional/amateur sports and school teams. Like our other lettering set it is provided at 5" high (upper case) and includes a full set of PDF files with lines marking the baseline, middle and top line of each letter as well as the center. Both upper and lower case is provided along with numbers and punctuation. The beauty of this particular lettering is that none of the letters or numbers goes below the baseline or above the top line. This makes it VERY EASY to line up the lettering in relationship to a seam or other straight line. We sewed this lettering out 2" at a slow speed with very short stitches and it still looked great! As these designs are comprised of ALL STRAIGHT LINES, there is no limit to how big you can sew them other than desired density! Set contains over 65 pieces.

Provided 12" square, these two motifs are designed to accentuate movement on a quilt. It is also good at hiding sins on blocks that might be slightly "off". Great for Pinwheel blocks or blocks with a tilted center. Recommended sizes are 7" - 15". This pattern is part of the UT-COLL1001 Collection.
